How to Fix a Cracked Display on the Huawei Mate 10 Lite LCD

Having a cracked, damaged or malfunctioning LCD screen or touchscreen for your Huawei Mate 10 Lite can be frustrating. Thankfully, it is possible to fix your display yourself at home.

The device’s 5.9-inch 18:9 display features a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels. It also features dual cameras on the rear and front.

Display

The Huawei Mate 10 Lite LCD features a 5.9-inch 18:9 IPS display with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and 409 ppi. It also supports multitouch and has a display color temperature of 2104. This is the same panel used by the Mate 10 Pro and is one of the best displays you can get for this price range.

It is a high-resolution display that offers great color accuracy and excellent sunlight legibility. It also has very deep blacks and is extremely bright. However, its white point is slightly cool and colors seem to be a little sickly in standard mode. This is a common problem with many smartphones but it can be easily fixed through the device’s display settings.

As a budget-minded phone, the Mate 10 Lite lacks some of the features that more expensive devices offer such as waterproofing and NFC options. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t a great device. It has a premium feel to it, a large battery and a superb screen.

For its price, the Mate 10 Lite feels surprisingly well-built. Its metal unibody is sturdy and fits comfortably in your hand. It’s also fairly light, at 5.78 ounces with the battery, which is quite average.

Its fingerprint sensor is also easily accessible and is placed in a very natural position, unlike some cheaper Huawei Mate 10 Lite LCD phones. It’s also much easier to unlock than on Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and S8+, for instance.

The Mate 10 Lite is powered by a Kirin 659 processor that has enough performance for everyday use and graphical grunt for gaming. The CPU isn’t as smooth as some of the pricier competition but it still feels fast for a mid-range smartphone.

Another positive point is the camera. The Mate 10 Lite has a 16-megapixel main sensor and a secondary 2-megapixel camera, which is useful for taking bokeh photos. Its double selfie camera is also good and takes very nice shots of yourself.

The Huawei Mate 10 Lite also comes with a fingerprint reader and Android 7.0 out of the box, but you can upgrade to Oreo and EMUI 5.1 if you want to. The software is fast and features plenty of Huawei goodies, though it does have a few quirks that aren’t always easy to figure out.

Camera

The Huawei Mate 10 Lite LCD is the less expensive variant of the Mate 10, a smartphone with features that make it an attractive choice for people on a budget. While it lacks certain features of its more premium namesake, it provides a lot for the price of nearly 30,000 Pakistani rupees, including a gorgeous display and solid performance.

The Mate 10 Lite offers a 5.9-inch, FullView LCD with an 18:9 aspect ratio and a 1080×2160 resolution. The IPS screen has good color accuracy and legibility, a sharp response time, deep blacks, and great brightness. It’s also not a problem to read in sunlight, although it tends to reflect off objects more than other LCD displays do.

As is typical for this price range, the camera on the Mate 10 Lite is not quite as good as it would be on more expensive handsets. However, it is better than most budget models.

At the back, the Lite’s 16-megapixel camera is complemented by a secondary 2MP module, which helps the main sensor capture light more effectively in low-light conditions. This is especially useful in situations where there’s not much ambient light and you want to make sure your subject is still in focus.

In addition, the camera features a variable aperture mode that lets you simulate f/0.95 to f/16. This is useful for shooting bokeh-style portraits, though it can sometimes render backgrounds too blurred.

For taking standard shots, the camera is good. The main sensor is sharp and captures details with little noise. It can also do a decent job of reducing image noise in brighter environments and at high ISOs.

The Lite’s front camera has a 13-megapixel module that does an acceptable job of capturing depth information. The software can be tweaked to alter the depth information for different results, such as a two-person bokeh effect and a softening of skin lines.

The Mate 10 Lite’s camera is not as impressive as the one on the more expensive Mate 10, but it’s more than enough for most users. Its variable aperture mode does help the Lite to take more interesting photos in certain lighting conditions, but its low-light samples are a bit below average.

Battery

The Huawei Mate 10 Lite LCD has a 3340 mAh battery that provides enough juice to power the phone for about two days without any problem. This makes it one of the most power efficient phones in the market, and it also means that you can get more work done on a single charge than with other models.

Its display is a 5.9-inch 18:9 panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels, and it’s powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor. It also includes a 16 MP rear camera, and a 13MP front-facing camera for taking selfies and video clips.

If you want to keep your new smartphone looking and working like new, it’s worth spending a few dollars on a good screen protector. These protect your device from damage caused by drops and smudges, while offering great touchscreen accuracy and clarity.

For the best screen protection, we recommend buying a tempered glass protector that offers both 99% retina clarity and touchscreen accuracy. These products are made to be smudge and fingerprint resistant, and they come with bubble-free adhesives for a smooth installation.

These products can be used with a variety of devices, Huawei Mate 10 Lite LCD including smartphones and tablets. They also provide excellent anti-shatter and scratch-resistant protection.

The tempered glass is easy to apply and remove, and it’s made with a transparent film that offers retina clarity and touchscreen accuracy. Its oleophobic coating reduces smudges and fingerprints, and it is easily cleaned.

This screen is rated 9H hard, meaning that it’s made to resist scratches and cracks. It’s also tempered to prevent the edges from chipping.

It’s also oleophobic, which helps prevent dust and grime from collecting on it. It’s also anti-glare, which makes it perfect for indoor use.

In our sunlight legibility test, the Mate 10 Lite LCD’s display scored a decent rating of 8.8, which is good enough for most uses. Its brightness, however, does drop a bit in bright light.

If your battery isn’t holding a charge, or it’s not charging quickly, it may be time for a replacement. This is an affordable way to fix your issue and ensure that you can use your phone for longer periods of time between charges.

Performance

The Huawei Mate 10 Lite LCD is a mid-range device that offers more than enough power and performance to deliver an immersive mobile experience. It features a powerful Kirin 659 SoC, 4 GB of RAM and a 64 GB eMMC flash storage.

In this price category, the Mate 10 Lite is a bit of an underdog, but it delivers enough grunt to handle demanding tasks with ease. We were able to navigate the web, send emails and text messages without any noticeable lag. The rear fingerprint scanner was snappy and the camera worked surprisingly well in low light.

Its display was sharp, bright and pretty accurate out of the box. However, colors did seem a little on the cool side when set to “warm” mode, but we could correct this using the screen’s calibration option.

On the software front, the Mate 10 Lite comes with Android 7.0 Nougat and EMUI 5.1. The latter is a feature-rich skin designed by Huawei to deliver smooth single-handed operation with fewer interruptions. The user interface is also slick and responsive and doesn’t suffer from any significant lag when sifting through multitasking or opening new apps.

The fingerprint reader works incredibly fast and catches your fingerprints quickly even if they’re a bit dirty or damp. The Huawei Mate 10 Lite also supports all of the usual fingerprint functions, such as taking photos, answering calls, unlocking the phone, opening the notification screen and browsing through pictures.

There’s a decent 3,340 mAh battery inside the Huawei Mate 10 Lite, and it lasted about 76 hours in our Wi-Fi test. That’s a slightly shorter battery life than the Mate 10 Pro, but it is still better than most of its competition.

The Mate 10 Lite has a 5.9-inch FHD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, and the color reproduction is pretty good for this size of panel. The IPS LCD display has enough sharpness, deep blacks and a superb contrast. We did notice some glare when used outdoors, and the sunlight legibility was average for an LCD unit.
